Teruel is not the favourite province for tourism in Spain, but it does have this name: Albarracín, a charming medieval village that seems to have been frozen in time. Its narrow streets, stone houses and magnificent views make it a perfect destination for those seeking tranquillity and historical beauty. Don’t miss the walls, the cathedral and the Diocesan Museum.
2. Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Germany
This picturesque Bavarian village is one of the best preserved medieval villages. Its classic half-timbered houses and cobbled streets make it the epitome of a medieval village. When you travel through it by minibus, you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. The picturesque streets look like something out of a fairy tale. Walk along the medieval walls, visit the Market Square and enjoy a stroll around the charming shops and cafés.
Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina
Mostar is best known for the iconic Stari Most, a bridge across the Neretvan River that was rebuilt after the Balkan War to symbolise peace and reconciliation. In addition to its impressive Ottoman architecture, it offers a vibrant mix of cultures and delicious local cuisine. You’ll love it.
4. Kotor, Montenegro
Nestled between the mountains and the Adriatic Sea, Kotor is a coastal town with a well-preserved old town. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its narrow cobbled streets, historic churches and the stunning Bay of Kotor make it a perfect destination to arrive in a T-ONE in the summer months.
5. Cesky Krumlov, Czech Republic
Located in the South Bohemian region, Cesky Krumloves is famous for its impressive castle and well-preserved medieval old town. This small town offers a unique combination of natural beauty and historic architecture, ideal for a quiet and picturesque visit.
6. Giethoorn, The Netherlands
Here we recommend that you leave the minibus at the entrance to the village. Known as the ‘Venice of the North’, Giethoorn is a roadless town where canals and wooden bridges are the main means of transport. Renting a small boat and sailing on the calm waters is a unique experience not to be missed.
7. Bled, Slovenia
Here it’s time to switch from minibus to ferry. The island and the cliff-top castle make Lake Bled one of the most magical places in Europe. Taking in the views and walking the surrounding trails are both fantastic and easy. The more adventurous can explore the island by boat or go for a swim in the crystal clear waters.
